As we are specialists we can offer unrivalled advice depending on the needs of your programme, from straightforward fixing through to full co-production.
Time and fees depend on the nature and complexity of the project and are quoted in full, following discussion of the programme’s requirements.
Early consultancy is available to avoid making costly mistakes later on. We strongly recommend we are contacted at the onset of a project. This is important because the early stages of setting up through the appropriate Chinese channels have to be done properly. We can remain as consultants, if required, right through to post-production including handling translation and accurate subtitling to Mandarin or Cantonese.
Recce & pre-production can be undertaken either by a local Chinese person including use of DV cam to show locations, or by a Chinese National or British citizen living in the UK who can be available here for continuity. It is usually dependent on the scale of project and the budget available that determines which option is preferable.
Budgeting is undertaken initially to give as clear an idea as possible on the costs involved. This includes advice on logistics, locations and utilizing the budget to best advantage. A revised budget is then undertaken once the logistics have been finalised.
Usually the budget will include fixed price hotel and food deals, per person per day, and will be handled by the Chinese fixer. This is to utilise good hotel and food deals thereby saving money overall. Transport costs are researched beforehand based on the schedule provided. We can always arrange good crew transport and drivers in any city in China.
