Since 1996 Xanadu has produced in-depth, quality documentaries about China for broadcast in the UK, the US and elsewhere. Our films have mainly focussed on contemporary China, giving fresh, engaging insights into the lives and concerns of Chinese people.

Working with established directors, we use our specialist knowledge and unique access to give our films depth and authenticity.

Our tireless research has revealed trends and stories long before they gain international attention. We always try to capture what is both distinctive and universal about life in China.

"Peoples Court"

"The People's Court" travels to Sichuan Province to capture a new initiative to bring China's emerging rule of law to the countryside. part of the Wide Angle Series on PBS/WNET. It took three years to negotiate access to filming inside the law courts — a first for a Western documentary crew:
